Hand-poured candles that use dark musk. It almost always sits at the very bottom of the blend, under wood, amber or leather, where it adds depth and makes the scent hang around longer. All are poured in small batches in Holland, Michigan with 100% soy wax, a lead free cotton wick and phthalate-free fragrance oil.

What dark musk smells like
Dark musk is warm, soft and slightly animalic, closer to skin and worn leather than to anything floral or fresh. It is not a note most people can pick out on its own, and that is the point. It works as a base, rounding off sharp edges and giving a candle weight so it does not disappear after ten minutes. Here it grounds teakwood and cedar in the library blends, amber and sandalwood in the warm ones, and sea air and vetiver in the marine one. It suits evenings, cold weather and anyone who likes a scent that feels close and low.
