Orders and shipping
How long does shipping take?
Most in-stock orders ship within 2 to 3 business days. Once USPS has the package, delivery within North America usually takes another 5 to 7 business days. You will get tracking by email so you can follow it through to delivery. USPS occasionally marks a package delivered before it actually arrives, so give it two more business days before you worry.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Orders of $125 or more ship free within the United States. Below that, shipping is calculated at checkout by weight and destination.
Is there an express option?
We do not offer a paid express option at checkout. If you need something by a specific date, call 616-287-3444 or email us and we will tell you honestly whether it can be done.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this time. We ship within the United States.
Where is my order?
Check the tracking email first. If tracking has not moved in a few days, email info@garsnettbeacon.com with your order number and we will chase it down.
Returns and exchanges
What is your return policy?
You have 30 days from receiving your order to request a return. Items must be unused and in their original packaging. Email info@garsnettbeacon.com first to get a return authorization number, and we will confirm the return address. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility and we recommend a trackable method. Custom and personalized items, sale items and gift cards cannot be returned. Full policy is here.

Pour your own candle
Can I make my own candle at your shop?
Yes. You pick a vessel and a fragrance, we walk you through it, and you pour your own candle. It is offered at the Holland shop only, by appointment, no walk-ins.
How do I book?
Book online at booking.appointy.com/garsnettbeacon. Online booking closes 12 hours before the appointment, so call 616-287-3444 if you are trying to get in last minute. Groups of 9 or more should email info@garsnettbeacon.com.
Is there a booking fee?
There is a $10 booking fee, one per candle, paid when you book. It comes off the price of your candle when you arrive. A $34 candle leaves $24 due at checkout.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Reschedule 48 hours or more before your appointment and the fee moves to the new date. Cancel 48 hours or more out and the $10 becomes a credit toward a future pour, good for 12 months. Inside 48 hours, a no-show, or arriving more than 10 minutes late means the fee is forfeited. You can reschedule or cancel yourself using the link in your confirmation email.
When do I get the candle I poured?
Poured candles need time to set, so you pick yours up at the shop within 2 weeks during open hours. If you would rather have it shipped, that is a flat $10 per address.
Our candles
What are your candles made of?
100% soy wax, a cotton wick with no lead or zinc, and phthalate-free fragrance oil. Our Luxury Coconut Soy line uses a coconut soy wax blend instead of straight soy, and a few limited candles use a wooden wick, which is noted on those product pages. Everything is hand-poured in small batches in Holland, Michigan.
Are your candles vegan and pet safe?
Yes. Soy and coconut wax with cotton or wooden wicks, no animal products. They are pet safe when burned in a ventilated room and kept out of reach.
How long do they burn?
A 5 oz burns 50+ hours, a 7 oz burns 60+ hours, a 9 oz burns 65+ hours, and a 10 oz burns 80+ hours.
What sizes do you make?
Most scents come in a 5 oz and a 10 oz glass jar. Our single-scent line is a 7 oz glass jar, the Candle of the Month is 9 oz, and the Luxury Coconut Soy line is 10 oz. We also make a 5 oz tin.
Do you make wax melts?
Yes. Our soy wax melts come as a 2.75 oz clamshell that breaks into 6 cubes. Drop a cube or two into any electric or tea light warmer. No flame, no wick, no smoke.
Candle care
How do I get the best burn?
Your candle arrives already trimmed. Trim the cotton wick back to a quarter inch before every burn after that. The first time you light it, let it burn 3 to 4 hours so the wax pool reaches the edge of the jar. Never burn more than 4 hours at a time, keep it on a level surface away from drafts, and stop using it once there is less than half an inch of wax left.
Why is my candle sooting?
Usually the wick is too long or the candle has burned too long. Trim the wick to an eighth of an inch and put the candle out if it has been lit more than 4 hours. A draft will do it too.
Why is the wax tunneling down the middle?
The first burn was cut short. Burning for 3 to 4 hours so the wax reaches the edge of the jar usually corrects it.
The inside of the jar changed color. Is that normal?
Yes. Citrus oils, cinnamon oil and vanillin can discolor the inside of a vessel. It does not affect the burn or the scent.
Can I reuse the jar?
Please do. Once you stop burning, clean it out and use it for whatever you like.
How strong will the scent be?
Fragrance is subjective and some scents carry further than others. As a rule, single-wick candles suit smaller rooms and multi-wick candles handle medium and large ones.
