Saffron Scented Candles

Seven candles with saffron in the blend, most of them smoky, woody or musky. This is the darker end of what we pour. Each one is hand-poured in small batches in Holland, Michigan with a lead-free cotton wick and phthalate-free fragrance oil, in 100% soy wax or, for the Sapphire, a coconut soy blend.

What saffron smells like

Saffron is warm and dry with a leathery, faintly sweet edge. It is a spice, but not a kitchen spice. It behaves like a bridge note, connecting bright citrus at the top to smoke, wood and amber at the bottom. Next to bergamot it reads elegant. Next to bourbon, clove and bonfire it goes rich and smoky. Next to jasmine and sandalwood it turns soft and creamy. It suits people who want something grown up and a little moody.
